Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez are officially moving forward with their wedding plans, two years after getting engaged, as reported by the Daily Mail. The couple announced their engagement in May 2023 when Bezos, one of the wealthiest individuals in the world, proposed with an enormous pink diamond ring, leaving Sanchez in awe—so much so that she admitted she “nearly blacked out” upon seeing it.
Their engagement was celebrated with a star-studded party aboard Bezos’s superyacht that summer, with notable guests like tech mogul Bill Gates, actor Leonardo DiCaprio, and reality TV matriarch Kris Jenner. Though rumors hinted at a “winter wonderland wedding” in Aspen on December 28, 2023, the day passed without the ceremony taking place.
A source close to the couple confirmed to the Daily Mail that the wedding is still on track and will take place this summer. With details now finalized, invitations are expected to be sent soon. Sanchez has already selected her wedding dress from Oscar de la Renta.
In November 2023, Sanchez revealed that she plans to take Bezos’s last name, excitedly sharing, “Uh, yes, one hundred percent. I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos.”
The couple frequently expresses their deep admiration for one another. Sanchez has spoken about how Bezos inspires her, saying, “He makes me a better person every day. He’s the most loving human I know.” Bezos, in turn, described her as “the most generous, most big-hearted person,” adding, “We’re really great teammates, and we also have a lot of fun together. And we love each other.”
Bezos, 61, was previously married to author MacKenzie Scott for 25 years, with whom he shares four children.
