Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has approved a reduction in working hours for civil servants during the 2025 Ramadan fast. The announcement was made on Tuesday, March 4, through a statement by Muhammad Dagaceri, Public Relations Officer for the State Head of Civil Service in Dutse, the state capital.

Effective immediately, civil servants will now report to work at 9:00 AM and close at 3:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, reducing the previous closing time by two hours. On Fridays, the working hours will be from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, in line with standard practice. This adjustment aims to give civil servants more time for daily preparations for the Ramadan fast and to engage in spiritual activities.

Dagaceri explained that the move is intended to allow employees to dedicate more time to their faith, with a focus on praying for peace, guidance, and prosperity for the state and the nation during the holy month.
