Juventus Sack Thiago Motta, Appoint New Head Coach

Juventus have officially fired Thiago Motta as their first-team manager, dismissing him less than a season into his tenure. The 42-year-old has been replaced by Igor Tudor, who is now tasked with guiding the team to a top-four finish in Serie A to secure Champions League qualification.

An official Juventus statement confirmed the decision:

“Juventus FC announce that Thiago Motta has been relieved of his duties as Men’s First Team coach. The club would like to thank Thiago Motta and all of his staff for their professionalism and for the work they have carried out in recent months with passion and dedication. The club wishes them the best of luck for the future.

Juventus FC also announce that the Men’s First Team will now be led by Igor Tudor, who will take charge of his first training session tomorrow, Monday, 24 March.”

Juventus currently sit fifth in Serie A with only nine matches left, making their push for Champions League qualification critical given the club’s financial struggles.

Motta, who was hired after an impressive 2023-24 season with Bologna, managed Juventus in 42 matches, securing 18 wins, 16 draws, and eight losses across all competitions.
