A Magistrate Court in Kano has sentenced TikTok users Ahmad Isa and Maryam Musa to one year in prison for sharing videos deemed offensive to religious and moral values. The duo was arrested by the Kano State Censorship Board for violating public decency with their social media posts.
The prosecution charged them with criminal conspiracy and the dissemination of illicit content. While both pleaded not guilty, Magistrate Hadiza Muhammad Hassan sentenced them to prison but offered an alternative fine of N100,000, urging them to maintain good conduct moving forward.
