So sight is very important and we in the Lions Club ensure that we help those that we can concerning eye sight, including giving them free eye screening and free glasses to assist them while reading. Though there are some critical cases whereby we seek advice from the doctor and those with very bad eye sight are taken to the hospital for surgery.’

Take care of your eyes, don’t let there be an emergency before you check on them.”

Also speaking is the guest speaker and optician of the event, Lion Dr. Kelechi Onyedi. He spoke on why it’s important to keep your eyes safe by checking up on it regularly, “Sight is very important as without it we can’t do our day to day activities comfortably. Catering of family and friends can be a problem without eye sight. Unfortunately, many people don’t know the value of sight, they don’t care for the eyes like they take care of other part of the body, people ignore sight until something happens, which is wrong. We should check on our sight from time to time at least once in a year and since Lions Club does this yearly it’s a great opportunity to take advantage of checking the eyes.

We also have a doctor on ground who will listen to their complaints so if the situation is serious they will be referred to the clinic for further test, but we are here basically to inform them on how to take care of their eyes.
