Liverpool In Pole Position To Land Bournemouth Full-Back Milos Kerkez

Liverpool could win the Premier League title on Wednesday night if Arsenal fail to beat Crystal Palace.

The Reds battled to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon – relegating the Foxes in the process – and Arne Slot’s side now sit 13 points clear at the top of the table.

With just five matches remaining, the Merseyside outfit need just one more victory to secure the Premier League title for just the second time in the club’s history.

That relies on Arsenal winning their remaining five games, though, and Liverpool will therefore win the title if the Gunners lose on Wednesday.

In the meantime, it has emerged that Liverpool are eyeing a move for one of the best defenders in the Premier League this term.

According to GiveMeSport, the Reds are leading the race to land Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez.

The Hungary international has been in sensational form for the Cherries so far this term, starting all 33 of the league games.

Liverpool are said to be one of a number of clubs interested in the 21-year-old, who is under contract until the end of the 2027/28 season.

It is claimed that, while the player does have a release clause in his current deal, Bournemouth are likely to accept offers in excess of £40 million.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal are all said to have monitored the full-back, while Manchester United also showed an interest prior to the arrival of Patrick Dorgu at Old Trafford.

Kerkez joined the Cherries from AZ Alkmaar in 2023 and has since played 69 times for the south coast club across all competitions.

Those guiding Liverpool’s recruitment are said to be keen to add a left-back to Slot’s squad that could act as a long-term successor to Andy Robertson.
