Man, 63, Killed in Light Plane Crash South-East of Darwin

A 63-year-old man has died, and a 29-year-old woman has been hospitalized following a light plane crash in the Fogg Dam recreational area, south-east of Darwin.

Emergency services were alerted to the crash at around 10:20 am on Sunday, according to ABC News. The aircraft reportedly had two passengers on board.

Search and rescue teams, including a CareFlight helicopter, were dispatched to the scene. The female passenger was winched from the wreckage and transported to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment.

Fogg Dam Road remained closed on Sunday night as police continued investigations into the incident.
