The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested a suspect, Chigozie Ovuta, who was found in possession of two human skulls and three locally made guns. The suspect, from the Okoffia community in Ezza South Local Government Area, confessed that the skulls were intended for ritualistic purposes.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the arrest and revealed that further investigation led to the arrest of three additional suspects in connection with stolen tricycles. Three stolen tricycles were recovered from the group, who admitted to receiving the vehicles for the purpose of altering their colors.

Chigozie Ovuta further confessed that the skulls were given to him for the preparation of a spiritual concoction. Authorities are currently pursuing others linked to the case.

In a separate operation, the police uncovered a criminal syndicate involved in altering the colors of stolen tricycles from neighboring states. Four suspects, Nweke Chukwudi, Nwankwo Obinna, John Abba, and Uche Abba, were arrested during this operation.

All suspects will face charges upon completion of the investigation. The Ebonyi State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring safety and security in the state, urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
