Mahmud Usman Garba has brought a case against businessman Alhaji Husseni Kashimu before a Chief Magistrate Court in Jalingo, Taraba State, accusing him of having an affair with his wife. Garba, a resident of the Rafin Sanyi area in Jalingo, filed the complaint on January 13, 2025, claiming that Kashimu had been enticing his wife, Hadiza Sani, and engaging in sexual relations with her.

During the court hearing on March 16, a prosecution witness, Tahir Hassan, testified that Kashimu had admitted to the affair during a reconciliation meeting at the Palace of the Chief of Tigun in Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State. According to Hassan, Kashimu confessed to having an ongoing relationship with Hadiza Sani and promised to end it. However, Hassan stated that after the meeting, Kashimu continued his affair with Hadiza, who has five children with her husband, Mahmud Usman.

The trial was adjourned by Chief Magistrate Chris Jonah to April 9, 2025, for the continuation of the hearing. He instructed the prosecution, led by counsel Danlami Shehu, to present the remaining two witnesses for a swift trial.
