“Men Must Remain Men, Women Must Remain Women” – President Ruto Endorses Trump’s Gender Policy

Kenyan President William Ruto has publicly supported U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent executive order, which reaffirms the U.S. government’s official recognition of only two genders—male and female.

Speaking on Sunday, January 26, 2025, after a service at the Global Cathedral in Nairobi, Ruto praised the policy shift for aligning with Kenya’s cultural and religious values. He commended the decision to end diversity, equity, and inclusion programs supporting other gender identities, calling it a step in the right direction.

“We are very proud. Contrary to what has been happening in the past, this year we got some very welcomed developments from the United States as a leading democracy. Their policy direction supports what we believe in—that boys must remain boys, men must remain men, and women must remain women and girls must remain girls,” said Ruto.

The Kenyan leader highlighted that this policy aligns with biblical teachings and the nation’s traditional values. “We thank God that this year, the very first news from the United States in the new administration is to confirm what the Bible says, what our faith believes in, and what our tradition is firmly grounded on,” he added.

President Trump, following his second inauguration, has swiftly moved to reverse policies implemented by former President Joe Biden. These include measures designed to protect transgender rights and prevent discrimination based on gender identity.

The controversial shift has sparked debates internationally, with President Ruto’s endorsement emphasizing the cultural and religious ties between Kenya and the new U.S. policy direction.
