MTN Nigeria Announces Plans To Build New Headquarters In Eko Atlantic

MTN Nigeria, the nation’s leading telecom operator, has revealed plans to build its new headquarters in Eko Atlantic, marking the company as the first telecom firm to establish a presence in the rapidly growing coastal city. CEO Karl Toriola made the announcement on Thursday during the launch of MyLagosApp, a new digital platform designed to improve access to essential city services for Lagos residents.

The new headquarters will position MTN alongside other major corporations such as First Bank, Shell, and TVC, who are all relocating to the 10-square-kilometer development. Toriola emphasized that this move demonstrates MTN’s long-term commitment to Lagos, noting, “We have acquired land in Eko Atlantic City and will begin construction once we have the necessary equipment.”

Eko Atlantic, a futuristic urban development built on 10 million square meters of reclaimed land off the Lagos coast, is designed as a self-sustaining metropolis, attracting a growing list of businesses. While Toriola did not disclose specific details regarding the timeline or financial aspects, the announcement follows First Bank’s recent groundbreaking ceremony for its new green-certified headquarters in Eko Atlantic, which was attended by key industry figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima and business tycoons Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola.
