The Delta State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services, and Girl Child Development, Orode Uduaghan, has responded to the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan by the Senate. On Thursday, March 5, Orode, the daughter of former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, took to her Instagram stories to share her thoughts. She expressed that she would soon be opening up about her experiences as a woman in politics, adding, “International Women’s Month. Lol,” alongside the post.
She also shared a video of Cletus Obun, a former member of the Cross River State House of Assembly, in which he suggested that women may one day be required to undergo mental stability tests to qualify for political offices such as governor, councilor, or senator. Orode captioned the clip, “One day I will set a ring light and microphone.”
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was recently suspended for six months after a Senate disciplinary committee found her guilty of breaching rules in connection with her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President G odswill Akpabio.
