The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has deployed officers to all accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers in Anambra State ahead of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, set to begin on April 24.
Edwin Okadigbo, Head of Media and Tactical for the Anambra NSCDC, announced the deployment in a press release on Wednesday. He confirmed that all 33 CBT centers in the state would be adequately staffed with security personnel.
State Commandant Olatunde Maku directed the deployment to ensure a secure and smooth examination process across the state. Okadigbo explained that during a briefing on Tuesday at the State Command Headquarters in Awka, Maku instructed area commanders, divisional officers, and other key officials to ensure the prompt response of personnel to any security concerns.
“The officers will provide protection for critical infrastructure, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure the integrity of the exam at all 33 accredited CBT centers,” Okadigbo said. “They are expected to arrive at the centers by 6am each day, screen candidates for prohibited items, and maintain a calm and orderly environment.”
Maku emphasized that all officers must adhere to the guidelines set by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and maintain professionalism throughout the exam period. He also cautioned against unauthorized persons lingering near exam centers and reminded candidates not to bring prohibited items. The NSCDC has vowed to arrest and prosecute anyone violating these rules.
