Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has launched an online registration portal and identity cards for members of his Obidient Movement, both in Nigeria and abroad.
This was announced in a joint statement by the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, and the Director of Strategic Communications and Media, Nana Kazaure, in Abuja.
The identity card features a QR code in the bottom right corner for authentication and includes the flag of the country where the cardholder resides. The statement explained: “The Obidient registration portal is designed to support Nigerians and fellow Obidients living in the diaspora. The ID will feature a flag of your country of residence in the top right-hand corner, allowing us to showcase the movement’s spirit of diversity, camaraderie, and unity.”
It added: “All ID cards, whether for Nigerians or Diasporans, will start with the prefix ‘OBX’. The QR code ensures secure and easy verification of members. By scanning the code with a smartphone, you can verify that someone is a genuine Obidient, allowing for more trust when interacting or doing business with them.”
