Officials Welcome Nigerian Returnees From Libya In Lagos

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Lagos Operations Office, alongside other key organizations, received 144 Nigerian returnees from Libya at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Cargo Terminal, Ikeja, Lagos on April 8, 2025.

The returnees arrived at 5:15 PM aboard a chartered Boeing aircraft operated by Al Buraq, with the registration number 5ADMG. Among them were 89 men, 35 women, 17 children, and 3 infants. This evacuation was coordinated by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in partnership with NEMA, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Nigeria Immigration Service, the Department of State Services (DSS), Port Health Services, and the Nigeria Police Force.

Following the mandatory profiling and biometric registration, the returnees were relocated to the Igando Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) resettlement center for reintegration programs.
