Osimhen Breaks Odegbami’s Eagles’ Goal Record

                    Osimhen

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has overtaken Segun Odegbami on Nigeria’s all-time top scorers list after netting his 24th international goal in the Super Eagles’ 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda on Friday.

The Galatasaray forward capitalized on a perfectly delivered free-kick from Ademola Lookman, guiding the ball into the net to give Nigeria the lead. With this milestone, Osimhen now sits second on Nigeria’s all-time goal-scoring chart, setting his sights on surpassing Rashidi Yekini’s record of 37 goals.

At 26, Osimhen has been in top form, registering 20 goals and four assists in 20 Super Lig appearances this season. Across all competitions, he has scored 26 goals and provided five assists in 30 matches.

Having equaled Odegbami’s 23-goal record last November during a 2025 AFCON qualifier against Benin, Osimhen’s latest achievement further cements his legacy in Nigerian football history.
