Osimhen Deal Nears As United Move To Trigger Release Clause

Victor Osimhen deal close as United set to trigger release clause

Manchester United are reportedly set to activate Victor Osimhen’s €75 million release clause after reaching a verbal agreement with the Nigerian striker over a potential summer move.

According to Tuttosport, United have agreed on basic salary terms with Osimhen’s representatives and are prepared to meet the clause in his Napoli contract. Manager Ruben Amorim is eager to bolster his attacking lineup ahead of next season.

Osimhen, 26, has been in outstanding form while on loan at Turkish club Galatasaray, scoring 30 goals and providing seven assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.

The Super Eagles star was linked with a Premier League move last summer, attracting interest from both United and Chelsea, but he eventually joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan.

United’s pursuit of Osimhen may lead to changes in their attacking options, with reports suggesting that struggling forward Rasmus Hojlund could be offered to Napoli as part of the deal. Hojlund has managed just eight goals in 45 appearances this season.
