Pep Guardiola and Cristina Serra Split After 30 Years Together

Pep Guardiola and his wife, Cristina Serra, have reportedly separated after three decades as a couple.

The Manchester City manager, 53, and Serra, a Brazilian journalist and writer, tied the knot in 2014 in an intimate ceremony near Barcelona. However, reports from Spanish outlet Sport reveal that they have decided to end their marriage.

The couple, who met in 1994 while Guardiola was modeling for designer Antonio Miro in Barcelona, had been living apart for over five years. Serra returned to Barcelona in 2019 with their youngest daughter, Valentina, now 17, to manage her family’s fashion company, Serra Claret. Guardiola, meanwhile, remained in Manchester to focus on his football career.

They share three children: Maria, 24, Marius, 22, and Valentina. Despite living in separate cities, Guardiola and Serra maintained their relationship, often appearing together in public. Serra even traveled to Istanbul in June 2023 to celebrate Manchester City’s Champions League victory, which completed their historic Treble.

Sources indicate the couple’s decision to part ways was made in December 2023 and kept private among close family and friends. Despite their separation, Sport describes their relationship as “cordial, stable, and friendly.”

Guardiola has often spoken fondly of Serra, praising her fashion expertise and influence. In January 2024, he humorously noted, “My wife is the best in the world at many things, especially fashion. She says to me, ‘Don’t wear this or wear that,’ and I follow. I’m smart enough to know when to take advice.”

Their journey together took them from Barcelona to Germany during Guardiola’s time managing Bayern Munich, and later to Manchester with City. Now, as they part ways, the couple remains committed to their family and maintaining a respectful bond.
