Police operatives have apprehended nine suspects linked to various crimes, including thuggery, armed robbery, and criminal conspiracy.
The Gombe State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, confirmed the arrests on Friday, revealing that several stolen items, such as phones, ATM cards, and cash, were recovered during the operation.
“We are dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of our residents. We will continue to work relentlessly to combat crime and bring those responsible to justice,” he stated.
Additionally, three suspects—Mohammad Ahmad, Abdullahi Adamu, and Yau Adamu—were arrested for armed robbery at the Federal Low-Cost Quarters in Gombe LGA, Gombe State. Armed with a sharp knife, the suspects robbed two residents, stealing valuables including a Redmi Android phone worth N150,000, a Tecno Android phone valued at N100,000, three ATM cards, and N3,000 in cash.
During questioning, the suspects admitted to the crime, and all stolen items were successfully recovered. Abdullahi expressed satisfaction with the recovery, stating, “We are glad to have recovered all the stolen items and ensured justice for the victims. We encourage the public to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.”
