President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja early Friday morning following a brief work stay in France.
The president arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at approximately 2:25 am.
Later today, President Tinubu is set to swear in the new Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, at the State House Council Chambers.
This ceremony will mark the formal appointment of Justice Kudirat Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun as the new CJN, succeeding Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who has recently retired.
The National Judicial Council, NJC, had recommended Justice Kekere-Ekun for the position during its 106th meeting on August 15.
In a statement released on Thursday, Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, confirmed that the swearing-in ceremony would take place today, as previously scheduled.
“President Tinubu will swear in Justice Ariwoola’s successor at the State House Council Chambers today” Ngelale stated.
