Russia Outlines Peace Deal Terms With U.S. Amid Ukraine Conflict

Russia has reportedly presented the United States with a list of demands as part of a potential deal to end its war with Ukraine and reset diplomatic ties with Washington, sources familiar with the discussions have revealed. While the exact details remain unclear, it is uncertain whether Moscow is willing to engage in direct peace talks with Kyiv before these conditions are met.

According to a Reuters report, Russian and American officials have been engaged in discussions over the past three weeks, both in-person and virtually. Moscow’s demands reportedly mirror previous ultimatums to Ukraine, the U.S., and NATO, including a guarantee that Ukraine will not join NATO, a ban on foreign troop deployments in Ukraine, and international recognition of Russia’s claims over Crimea and four other regions.

Additionally, Russia has long insisted that NATO and the U.S. address what it considers the “root causes” of the war, particularly NATO’s expansion toward Russia’s borders.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump is awaiting a response from Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding a proposed 30-day ceasefire, an initiative that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has suggested could serve as a starting point for broader peace negotiations.

In Kyiv, Zelensky welcomed recent U.S.-Ukraine discussions in Saudi Arabia, calling them constructive and expressing hope that a temporary ceasefire could pave the way for a lasting peace agreement.
