Saudi Pro League giants Al Nassr have initiated official discussions with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Nigerian striker Victor Boniface.
The news was confirmed by renowned Italian journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who shared the update via a post on X. “Understand Al Nassr have started official talks for Victor Boniface as a new striker! Negotiations are underway with Bayer Leverkusen for the Nigerian striker to replace Talisca,” Romano wrote.
Boniface, 23, remains under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2029, following a recent extension that doubled his annual salary from €3 million to €6 million (approximately N9.5 billion). Despite the lucrative deal, Bayer Leverkusen is reportedly open to a sale, with the player’s market value estimated at €50 million (£42 million/$52 million), thanks to his stellar form and age.
Previously linked to Manchester United, Boniface has been making waves with his impressive performance at Leverkusen, scoring 29 goals and providing 11 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.
Should the deal go through, Boniface would join the growing list of football stars opting for a move to the Saudi Arabian league, following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mané, who are already at Al Nassr.
