Senator Natasha Files Sexual Harassment Petition Against Akpabio Again

Senator Natasha resubmits sexu@l harassment petition against Akpabio

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has resubmitted a sexual harassment petition against Senate President Godswill Akpabio to the Senate, on behalf of her constituents, led by Zubairu Yakubu.

After presenting the petition, Senate President Akpabio asked if there were any legal obstacles to accepting it. Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan confirmed there were none, prompting the Senate President to instruct her to formally submit the petition to the Senate.

The petition was then referred to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Public Petitions, chaired by Senator Neda Imasuen (LP, Edo South), with the directive to report back to the plenary within four weeks after a legislative review.

This follows the submission of a similar petition by Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan yesterday, which was dismissed because it was signed by her alone and not by members of her constituency.
