Shakira Celebrates Grammy Win with Rare Appearance of Sons, Nearly Three Years After Piqué Split

Shakira shared a heartwarming moment with her two sons at the 2025 Grammy Awards, marking a rare public appearance for the young boys.

The 48-year-old global superstar, best known for hits like Hips Don’t Lie, took home the award for Best Latin Pop Album for her latest release, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, at the star-studded event held at LA’s Crypto.com Arena on Sunday.

As she accepted the prestigious award from Jennifer Lopez, Shakira immediately turned to embrace her sons, Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10, who were beaming with pride. The singer shares her children with former professional soccer player Gerard Piqué, 38, from whom she split in June 2022.

Beyond celebrating her musical achievement, Shakira used her platform to deliver a powerful message, dedicating her win to ‘immigrant brothers and sisters’ in response to President Donald Trump’s proposed mass deportation policies. Her speech resonated with many, highlighting her ongoing advocacy for marginalized communities.

Later in the evening, before setting the stage on fire with an electrifying performance, the four-time Grammy winner reflected on the deeply personal inspiration behind her new album. She revealed how she transformed the pain and anger from her high-profile breakup into music, channelling her emotions into a project that has resonated with fans worldwide.

Shakira’s triumphant night was not only a celebration of her artistry but also a testament to her resilience, proving that personal hardships can lead to powerful creative expression.
