Shehu Sani predicts Donald Trump’s second term as U.S. President will bring fear, resistance, and a global reset.

Former Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani has characterized U.S. President-elect Donald Trump as a “disruptor,” predicting his second term will present significant challenges both domestically and globally.

Sharing his thoughts on social media hours before Trump’s inauguration as the 47th President of the United States, Sani painted a picture of a leader poised to shake the foundations of international relations.

In a post on his X handle on Monday, Sani remarked:

“Mr. Trump takes over the American presidency today. A disruptor takes power. It’s going to be a great challenge to the world.

“It’s going to be an American nationalist and businessman vs. the world. He will pull the plug or change the plugs at the UN, EU, NATO, and the American relations with the world.

“He will be feared and not loved and will ultimately face resistance from both allies and foes. He will try to reset everything, and that is where the discomfort will come.

“Africa should not expect anything much from Trump, even though Biden didn’t do much either. Trump is back and, sadly, without Mugabe. The world must not give up or compromise its universal human values.”

As Trump prepares to begin his second term, Sani’s words underline the global uncertainty surrounding the return of a leader whose policies and rhetoric have consistently disrupted the status quo.
