Spotify announced on Monday that it paid over $100 million to podcast creators in the first quarter of 2025, marking the first time the company has disclosed such figures. The Swedish streaming giant, which earned 15.7 billion euros ($17.9 billion) last year, highlighted its commitment to the creator economy.
This payout includes earnings from ads and Spotify’s new Partner Program, which gives creators additional ways to monetize their content. Spotify has been investing in podcasts since 2015 and acquired podcast producer Gimlet Media in 2019. The company will release its Q1 earnings on Tuesday, following a record net profit of 1.1 billion euros in 2024.
