The Cool Running Company Limited, a company that deals in advertising, signage, out-of-home media and also a consultant to Yenagoa Local Government Council in Bayelsa State recently had meetings with various stakeholders in the banking sector.
The event which was held on Wednesday, March 26 at Brass Suites Hotel, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State engaged the stakeholders on issues concerning the controls and regulations of advertising, signage and Out-Of-Home media to reduce clutter and prevent distractions that could compromise safety, especially in high-traffic areas within the Public.
Mr Matthew Obasohan, the managing director and chief executive officer (MD/CEO) of the company expressed gratitude to the stakeholders for their contributions, professional conduct and setting regulations to prevent misleading or deceptive advertisements, safeguarding consumers from false claims and harmful content.
Citing the lawsuit, SUIT NO: BYHC/YHC/CV/73/2024 and the judgement delivered by Justice Charlie Ebiyon Duke, on the 14th of January, 2025, on who’s right to control and regulate outdoor advertising in Yenagoa Local government area, Obasohan applauded the judgement which according to him, the claimant was awarded N10million for the unlawful interference of his constitutional right.
Obasohan said: “The Cool Running Company Limited is now in control of matters affecting advertising in Yenagoa local government area of Bayelsa State as proclaimed by law and this must be respected by the public, for this process will enable more structured and organised regulatory policies in the sector.”
Also speaking on the court ruling, Chief Oviezibe Ogum, the Operational Manager of the Company, made it known that commitments to ensure all standard measures are put in place for professionalism and effective operations for public services.
