The police in Delta State have launched an investigation after three sisters, aged between 14 and 30, were found dead in their father’s home in Delta Steel Company (DSC) township, Oruhworun, Udu Local Government Area, on Monday, March 1.
According to Sahara Reporters, the sisters had returned from a birthday party the day before and were found foaming at the mouth the next day. Witnesses said the sisters occasionally visited their father and stepmother but did not live with them permanently.
The incident has deeply shocked the community, especially as it occurred less than a year after the death of the sisters’ biological mother. Their father remarried shortly after, and the stepmother was reportedly a close friend of the late mother, a source said.
Confirming the incident, Delta State police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe stated that an investigation was underway to determine the cause of death and any possible involvement.
“We are treating this as a suspicious death and are looking into all angles. The public will be updated as we make progress,” he said.
