President Bola Tinubu has approved the nomination of four new members to the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
In a statement on Thursday, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the appointments aim to fill existing vacancies and strengthen the board’s capacity.
The new members are Mr. Olusegun Omosehin from the National Insurance Commission, Engr. Wole Ogunsanya from the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria, Sam Onyechi representing the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum, and Barrister Owei Oyanbo from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
President Tinubu urged the new members to use their expertise and commitment to improve local content development in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The statement also explained that the nominations followed the departure of previous institutional representatives from the Governing Council. The NCDMB Governing Council, established under Section 69 of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act, 2010, includes representatives from key institutions such as the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, and others.
