Former Jigawa State Governor and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of lacking transparency in his administration. Speaking during the BBC Hausa program Gane Mini Hanya, Lamido claimed that Tinubu, like former President Muhammadu Buhari, has relied on propaganda rather than openly addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
“Buhari’s and Tinubu’s governments are not being transparent with Nigerians, unlike during the PDP era, where everything was open to the people,” Lamido said.
He criticized the current administration’s handling of the national budget, calling attention to what he described as contradictory claims. “If Nigerians are being told the truth, then there is nothing wrong. But how can you budget N30 trillion, generate N50 trillion, and still request a loan when you have a surplus of N20 trillion?” he questioned.
Lamido also condemned what he referred to as “recklessness and clear-cut selfishness” in the government’s financial management practices.
“This kind of behavior is unheard of anywhere in the world, yet some Nigerians defend it. Just visit social media and see how the APC is being called a calamity, but still, some people protect it,” he remarked.
