A businessman, Sheriff Salifu, and a young woman, Blessing Adama, were found dead in an apartment in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State on Friday, April 18, 2025. The victims, discovered naked in Salifu’s room, were identified by the Kogi State Police Command, which described the incident as sudden and unnatural.
Blessing Adama, a student of Kogi State College of Education, and Salifu were found lifeless after Salifu’s landlord reported his tenant’s unusual absence. Salifu’s brother accessed the room through the ceiling, uncovering the tragic scene. The bodies were taken to the zonal hospital in Ankpa, where they were confirmed dead.
While Salifu’s family requested his burial according to Islamic rites, Blessing’s remains are still at the mortuary. The police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of their deaths, with postmortem examinations underway. The incident has left the community in shock, as authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.
