UCL: Rio Ferdinand Lists Four Teams That Could Knock Arsenal Out

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has named four teams that would eliminate Arsenal from the UEFA Champions League this season

Arsenal have all but guaranteed their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season.

This comes after the Gunners thrashed PSV 7-1 on Tuesday.

Mikel Arteta’s side side will face either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals before a potential semi-final clash with Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Aston Villa or Club Brugge.

However, Ferdinand believes Arsenal are the fifth-best team in the Champions League on that side of the draw.

According to him, Arsenal are behind the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, who he feels the four teams are capable of knocking the Premier League North London club out of the competition.

I’m not even talking about the whole competition, on that side of the draw,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.

“They are behind Liverpool, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. Arsenal are the fifth-best team on that side of the draw. That’s mad.”

He added, “They have gone further away from where they were last year.”

Arsenal have all but secured their spot in the quarter-finals after a dominant 7-1 victory over PSV on Tuesday. Mikel Arteta’s side is set to face either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid in the next round, with a potential semi-final clash against Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Aston Villa, or Club Brugge.

However, Ferdinand considers Arsenal only the fifth-best team on their side of the draw. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he placed them behind Liverpool, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and PSG—teams he believes are strong enough to eliminate the Gunners.

“They are behind Liverpool, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and PSG. Arsenal are the fifth-best team on that side of the draw. That’s mad,” Ferdinand said.

He added, “They have gone further away from where they were last year.”
