US Will Deport Foreign Students If Their Presence Isn’t Beneficial, Says JD Vance

"US will deport foreign students if their stay not is in our best interest" JD Vance says

U.S. Vice President JD Vance has stated that immigrants on student visas will be deported if the United States determines their presence is not in the country’s best interest. Vance made these comments in an interview with Fox News aired on Thursday night, March 13.

Vance predicted that deportation numbers would increase as the Trump administration intensifies efforts to remove illegal migrants from the country. He added that President Trump has grown impatient with the slow pace of deportations and has promised a rise in numbers.

When asked if this would impact foreign students who entered the U.S. legally, Vance confirmed it, calling the move a national security measure.

“This is not about free speech; it’s about national security. More importantly, it’s about who we, as an American public, decide can join our national community,” he said. “If the Secretary of State and the President decide someone shouldn’t be in America and has no legal right to stay, it’s as simple as that.”

Vance continued, “We will certainly see some people deported on student visas if we determine it’s not in the best interest of the United States to have them here. I don’t know how high that number will be, but you’ll definitely see more deportations.”

He also criticized foreign students for taking spots at prestigious universities that could have gone to American students. “A lot of these foreign students, most of them, pay full tuition. So, at elite universities like Columbia or Harvard, you might have a well-qualified middle-class American kid from the heartland who can’t get a spot because someone, often from China, is paying $100,000 a year for it,” he said.

“It’s not just bad for national security; it’s bad for the American Dream for kids who want to attend a top university but can’t because their spot was taken by a foreign student. This is something we’re definitely looking into.”
