Controversial activist VeryDarkMan has pledged to sponsor the video shoot for the protest song Tell Your Papa, which was recently banned by the Nigerian government. The Federal Government, through the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), banned the song on Thursday, labeling it inappropriate and offensive. Ironically, the ban has brought significant attention to the song, which had previously gone unnoticed.
In response, VeryDarkMan criticized the government for silencing the song on Nigerian radio and television, arguing that its message reflects the truth. He vowed to support Eedris Abdulkareem in creating a new video for the song. Speaking via his social media, he announced plans to remake the video, featuring himself and a lookalike of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to amplify the song’s message on social media platforms.
VeryDarkMan condemned the ban as an attempt to suppress voices highlighting the country’s hardships, including insecurity and economic struggles. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the song’s message reaches a wider audience, despite the government’s efforts to control the narrative.
