A man has been charged with murder after allegedly fatally shooting the administrator of a community WhatsApp group who had removed him from the chat, police reported on Saturday, March 8.
Mushtaq Ahmed was shot and killed on the evening of Thursday, March 6, in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province in Pakistan known for its history of sectarian violence.
Ashfaq, a Pakistani man, has been charged with murder, according to police documents and a local official.
Mushtaq reportedly removed Ashfaq from the WhatsApp group after an argument, as stated by Mushtaq’s brother. The two had arranged to meet and settle their differences, but Mushtaq’s brother claims that Ashfaq arrived with a gun and shot him dead.
Ashfaq was allegedly enraged by being removed from the WhatsApp group, according to the statement.
