The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a woman for allegedly attempting to sell a 3-year-old boy, whom she claimed to be her son, for N1.5 million.
According to police sources speaking to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the suspect, Hana Yusuf from Kpaduma II Village, approached a resident, Isaac Tom, on March 18, 2025, asking him to help her find a buyer for the child. Troubled by the request, Tom reported the incident to the Asokoro Police Division.
In response, the police quickly launched a sting operation, with ASP Promise Gandi posing as a potential buyer. The suspect was lured to a meeting point, where she was arrested, and the child was safely rescued.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the child, Yusuf Ibrahim, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mariam Ibrahim from Kpaduma II, Guzape. The boy has since been reunited with his parents, and further investigations are ongoing.
The suspect remains in custody and is being interrogated. Authorities confirmed that she will be charged in court once the investigation is complete.
