Yobe NBA Swears In New Executives

 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Yobe State Branch, on Saturday inaugurated its newly elected executive committee members who will serve a two-year term.

The nine-member executive committee will oversee the welfare, development, and overall growth of the branch.

In her valedictory remarks, the outgoing Chairperson, Altine Ibrahim, highlighted key achievements during her tenure, notably the initiation of the NBA Bar Center Project, named in honor of Governor Mai Mala Buni. She explained that the proposed center aims to offer a conducive working environment, featuring conference halls, a library, and training facilities.

She also reflected on challenges faced by the branch, including the unfortunate invasion of the Chief Magistrate Court in Potiskum, an act that was strongly condemned by the Bar.

Ibrahim extended her gratitude to the state government, senior members of the legal profession, and various partners for their support in legal empowerment, capacity building, welfare initiatives, and public interest advocacy.

The newly inaugurated Chairman, Ahmad Khalifa, pledged to carry out his duties with integrity and impartiality, in full adherence to the association’s guiding principles. The oath of office was administered by Magistrate Court Judge Abdullahi Saleh Samanja.

The newly elected executive members are:

  • Chairman: Ahmad Khalifa

  • Vice Chairman: Ahmed Buba Mohammed

  • Secretary: Abba Mustapha Maina

  • Assistant Secretary: Ali Suleiman Kadai

  • Treasurer: Maryam Idrissa Bamai

  • Financial Secretary: AbdulMalik Isa

  • Welfare Secretary: Idriss M. Suleiman

  • Publicity Secretary: Muhammad Bukar

  • Provost: Baba Umar Nuhu

Newly sworn-in officials were urged to uphold their oath of office with a sense of duty and decorum, remaining guided by their promises throughout their tenure.
