Zelenskyy: Russia Pretending To Ceasefire, Attacked 387 Times

Russia creating impression of ceasefire ? Zelenskyy reveals Russia attacked 387 times Saturday night after Putin announced Easter ceasefire

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russia of pretending to honor a ceasefire while continuing military aggression across the frontlines.

In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, Zelenskyy cited a report from Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, confirming that Russian forces were still launching attacks as of 6:00 a.m. local time.

“There have already been 59 Russian shelling incidents and five assaults along various parts of the frontline,” Zelenskyy said.

His statement came a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a temporary “Easter truce,” claiming that military operations would be paused from 6:00 p.m. Saturday to Monday.

However, Zelenskyy reported that between 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Russian forces carried out 387 shelling attacks, 19 assaults, and deployed drones 290 times. He also noted Russian strikes in the Kursk region.

Zelenskyy condemned Moscow for creating a false image of peace while still waging war.
“As of Easter morning, it’s clear that Russia is trying to give the illusion of a ceasefire, even as it continues isolated offensives,” he said. “A true ceasefire requires full compliance.”

He reaffirmed Ukraine’s willingness to uphold and extend a genuine truce, adding that Kyiv’s proposal for a 30-day extension of the ceasefire beyond midnight remains on the table.

“We will respond based on the real situation on the ground,” he concluded.
